Crazy Fish –
I bought this because it looked pretty cool – and I could chop firewood with it. Open the box, and it sure looks neat. The blade is awesome and very well made. It’s cuts wood just fine but not as nice as a maul. The handle is well made and has all the right angles. The finish is a bit off, but acceptable.
The “leather” straps on it are bottom of the line and useless. The ones at the top look nice and don’t move but it still looks like plastic leather. The wrap on the bottom is totally useless. Take it off and toss it. Two swings and it comes loose. It’s not glued or nailed on.
I’ll take it off and wrap some real leather on it.If you want this just to look cool – no problem. But if you sort of want to use it as an axe, plan on adjusting it a bit It comes with a sharpening stone and oil and a decent leather sheathOverall: The blade and the handle are totally worth it for the look – and actual use.
It wouldn’t be my full time chopping wood axe but it’s pretty cool. Just replace the leather handle and you’ll be fine.

If you have any plans that involves an ax, this ‘wood’ be the best way to ‘hatchet’. It comes in the box with a blade sharpener, oil, a (really nice) sheath and blade guard. The straps that are wrapped around the handle and area where the ax attaches to the top of the handle adds for extra support, aslo a better grip and it looks really nice. The overall ax itself is light, but not too light. It’s still heavy enough to chop various objects in half with ease, while looking stylish is the process. 10 stars, in which I’ll use this ax the cut in half, which makes for a full 5 stars.
